Trump announces new executive order requiring voter ID in elections

President Trump Set to Sign Executive Order Requiring Voter I.D.
President Donald Trump recently announced his plans to sign an executive order that would mandate voter I.D. in elections across the United States. In a late-night social media post on Truth Social, Trump emphasized the importance of voter I.D. in ensuring the integrity of the voting process.
The President stated, “Voter I.D. Must Be Part of Every Single Vote. NO EXCEPTIONS! I Will Be Doing An Executive Order To That End!!! Also, No Mail-In Voting, Except For Those That Are Very Ill, And The Far Away Military. USE PAPER BALLOTS ONLY!”
This is not the first time Trump has attempted to implement voter I.D. requirements through executive action. Earlier this year, a federal judge blocked portions of his previous executive order related to voter identification requirements, citing that such decisions should be made by Congress and individual states.
Despite the legal setbacks, the idea of requiring voters to provide proof of citizenship remains popular among Americans. A recent Gallup poll found that 84% of U.S. adults support voter I.D. requirements, while 83% back the need for proof of citizenship during voter registration.
The support for these measures cuts across party lines, with a majority of Democrats, Independents, and Republicans in favor of mandating voter I.D. and proof of citizenship.
As the debate over election integrity continues, President Trump remains committed to his efforts to tighten voting regulations and ensure fair and transparent elections.
