US Election 2024

Trump backs Van Epps for Tennessee’s 7th District, attacks Democrat Behn

President Trump Urges Tennessee Voters to Support Matt Van Epps in Special Election

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to rally Tennesseans to vote for Matt Van Epps, the Republican candidate in the state’s 7th Congressional District special election, set to take place on December 2nd.

With just two days left before the election, Trump called on “all America First Patriots” in the district to cast their votes in support of Van Epps. The former president warned against underestimating the importance of the race, claiming that Van Epps’ opponent, Democratic state Rep. Aftyn Behn, holds views that are antithetical to the values of the district.

Trump alleged that Behn “hates Christianity, will take away your guns, wants Open Borders, Transgender for everybody, men in women’s sports, and openly disdains Country music.” He urged voters to reject Behn’s platform and instead back Van Epps, whom he described as one of the best candidates the district has ever seen.

Behn, a former advocate for defunding the police and critic of Nashville’s music scene, has come under scrutiny for her past statements. In a recent interview, Behn attempted to clarify her previous remarks, emphasizing the need for local solutions to address community issues.

Van Epps, a lieutenant colonel in the Tennessee Army National Guard and a decorated Army pilot, has received Trump’s full endorsement and promises to represent the district faithfully if elected.
