US Election 2024

Trump brands Schiff ‘watermelon head,’ torches ‘dishonest’ Democrat at NRCC gala

Senator Adam Schiff responded strongly to President Donald Trump’s mocking comments during a black-tie Republican dinner in Washington, D.C. Trump’s jokes about Schiff’s appearance and role in the 2016 Russia collusion investigation did not go unnoticed by the California Democrat.

In a tweet, Schiff pointed out that the President should be focusing on the crashing economy rather than targeting him. The event, hosted by the National Republican Congressional Committee, saw Trump making personal attacks on Schiff, referring to him as “Adam ‘Schifty’ Schiff” and mocking his physical features.

Trump went on to call Schiff one of the most dishonest human beings he had ever seen, questioning how someone like Schiff could run for office. This is not the first time that the two have clashed, with Schiff leading the House’s impeachment probe into Trump in 2020.

During the impeachment proceedings, Schiff quoted Alexander Hamilton’s warning about despotic leaders, drawing parallels to Trump’s actions. The ongoing feud between Trump and Schiff has seen both parties exchanging barbs and insults, with Trump previously referring to Schiff as a “structural marvel” with unusual physical attributes.

In response to criticisms from Republicans, Schiff has also fired back, calling out their name-calling tactics. Despite the ongoing back-and-forth, Schiff has remained vocal in his opposition to Trump’s policies and actions.

Fox News Digital reached out to Schiff for further comment, but he has yet to respond. The feud between Schiff and Trump continues to play out on the political stage, with both sides refusing to back down.
