Victim’s family ‘confident’ Oklahoma’s Richard Glossip will be convicted again

The family of Barry Van Treese, the Oklahoma City motel owner who was murdered in 1997, expressed confidence that Richard Glossip will once again be found guilty after the Supreme Court overturned his conviction and ordered a new trial. Justice Sonia Sotomayor stated that the prosecution failed to correct false testimony during Glossip’s original trial, leading to the decision for a retrial.

Derek Van Treese, Barry’s son, conveyed the family’s unwavering belief in Glossip’s guilt, emphasizing that two previous juries had already found him guilty of first-degree murder.
