Trump demands that Hamas release hostages in Truth Social post

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday to issue a strong warning to Hamas, demanding the immediate release of all hostages held by the terrorist group. This declaration came following a meeting between Trump and seven former Hamas hostages who made their way to Washington, D.C., including individuals such as Eli Sharabi, Doron Steinbrecher, Keith Siegel, Aviva Siegel, Naama Levy, Omer Shem Tov, and Iair Horn.

In his post, Trump began by stating, “‘Shalom Hamas’ means Hello and Goodbye – You can choose.” He then went on to assert, “Release all of the Hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you.” Trump did not mince words, condemning Hamas for their heinous actions and urging them to make the right decision.

The former president made it clear that he is providing Israel with all necessary support to resolve the situation, warning Hamas that no member of the organization will be safe if they fail to comply with his demands. Trump emphasized the gravity of the situation by reminding Hamas of the lives they have destroyed and issuing a final ultimatum.

Furthermore, Trump extended a message to the people of Gaza, offering them a chance at a brighter future if they cooperate. He cautioned that holding hostages would only lead to dire consequences and urged them to make a wise choice by releasing the captives immediately.

This statement from Trump came shortly after White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed questions regarding negotiations with Hamas. When confronted with the U.S.’s policy of not negotiating with terrorists, Leavitt explained that the special envoy involved in the talks had the authority to engage with any party. She assured that Israel was consulted on the matter and emphasized Trump’s commitment to acting in the best interests of the American people.

As discussions and negotiations with Hamas continue, Leavitt refrained from divulging specific details, citing the sensitivity of the situation and the high stakes involved. The focus remains on securing the release of American hostages and finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

In conclusion, Trump’s firm stance against Hamas underscores his dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of those affected by the ongoing crisis. As efforts to secure the release of hostages persist, the administration remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding American interests and values.
