US Election 2024

Trump endorses two GOP candidates in AZ governor’s race

President Donald Trump faced a dilemma after endorsing conservative Karrin Taylor Robson for governor of Arizona only to have Republican Rep. Andy Biggs unexpectedly enter the race. In a surprising move, Trump announced that he would support both candidates in the upcoming election.

Robson, a small business owner and lawyer, initially received Trump’s endorsement when she was the only candidate in the race. Trump expressed his admiration for Robson, stating that he was happy to endorse her. However, when Biggs decided to run for governor, Trump found himself in a difficult position.

To navigate this situation, Trump decided to endorse both Robson and Biggs, emphasizing that both candidates are exceptional individuals who have his full support. Trump took to Truth Social to announce his endorsement of both candidates, praising them as champions who will not disappoint the American people.

Both Robson and Biggs have expressed their gratitude for Trump’s endorsement. Robson, in a statement to Fox News Digital, thanked Trump for his support and reaffirmed her commitment to his conservative, America First agenda. Biggs also took to social media to express his honor in receiving Trump’s endorsement and pledged to fight for Trump’s agenda as Governor of Arizona.

Both candidates have pledged to focus on cutting taxes and strengthening border security in Arizona. Robson, in particular, highlighted her commitment to job creation and border security, echoing Trump’s priorities. With Trump’s endorsement, Robson and Biggs are poised to make a significant impact in the Arizona governor’s race.

The current governor of Arizona is Democratic incumbent Katie Hobbs, who took office in 2023. The general election is set for November 3, 2026, where Robson and Biggs, with Trump’s backing, will vie for the governorship. It remains to be seen how Trump’s dual endorsement will impact the outcome of the election and the future of Arizona politics.
