President Trump Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize for Efforts to Stop Russia-Ukraine War

House GOP allies of President Donald Trump have officially nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his ongoing efforts to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine. The nomination comes as a result of Trump’s recent diplomatic engagements, including a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin and a meeting with European leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., and Rep. Marlin Stutzman, R-Ind., are spearheading the nomination, highlighting Trump’s role as a peacemaker on multiple fronts. They praised Trump’s leadership in securing landmark diplomatic agreements, de-escalating global conflicts, and actively pursuing peaceful resolutions to entrenched disputes, leading to a more peaceful world.

The nomination letter specifically mentioned Trump’s recent summit with Putin in Alaska, focused on establishing a path towards a Ukraine ceasefire, prisoner exchanges, humanitarian corridors, and future security arrangements. It also highlighted Trump’s meeting with Zelenskyy and other European leaders to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine and facilitate dialogue between Zelenskyy and Putin.

In addition to his efforts in resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Trump was also lauded for brokering a historic peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, engaging with regional leaders on the Gaza conflict, and facilitating peace agreements like the Abraham Accords during his first term in office.

Rep. Ogles emphasized Trump’s role in promoting “America First” statesmanship and his ability to halt wars and resolve longstanding disputes. He described Trump as a champion of strength and prudence in U.S. foreign policy, highlighting his unique contributions to global peace.
