Trump press secretary attacked by California House Democrat: ‘Fake Christian’
Freshman House Democrat Rep. Dave Min has taken aim at White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt for her recent comments regarding a White House memo rescinding a federal funding order issued by President Donald Trump. In a scathing tweet on Wednesday, Min accused Leavitt of being a “Fake Christian” and criticized the Trump administration for its handling of the situation.
The White House had rescinded an Office of Management and Budget (OMB) memo that had ordered a freeze on most federal grants and assistance, a move that was later blocked by a federal judge. Leavitt clarified the situation on social media, stating that while the memo had been rescinded, Trump’s executive orders targeting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and other progressive spending priorities remained in effect.
Min’s comments were sparked by Leavitt’s remarks at a White House press briefing, where she criticized the allocation of taxpayer dollars for funding condoms in Gaza. The California Democrat accused Leavitt of hypocrisy, claiming that she was using her Christian faith to advance an agenda while spreading lies to the public.
In response to Min’s criticism, Leavitt has yet to comment. However, Min reiterated his stance, highlighting the administration’s use of religion to push its agenda while neglecting crucial issues such as child hunger, veteran healthcare, and funding for law enforcement.
As the controversy continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the White House and Rep. Min will address the situation. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
