Trump reveals pick for ambassador to Panama

President-elect Donald Trump has selected Miami-Dade County Commissioner Kevin Marino Cabrera to serve as the ambassador to Panama. Trump praised Cabrera as a “fierce fighter” who will advance the “MAGA agenda” in the Central American country.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Trump highlighted Cabrera’s dedication to America First principles and his role in driving economic growth and fostering international partnerships as Vice Chairman of the International Trade Consortium. Trump also commended Cabrera for his work as the Florida State Director for his 2020 campaign and as a member of the RNC Platform Committee.

Trump expressed confidence in Cabrera’s understanding of Latin American politics, stating that he will excel in representing the nation’s interests in Panama. The announcement comes after Trump criticized Panama for allegedly taking advantage of the United States through the Panama Canal.

Cabrera, who won his county election two years ago with Trump’s endorsement, thanked the President-elect for the nomination and pledged to work diligently as the U.S. Ambassador to Panama. He previously served as the Florida state director for Trump’s 2020 campaign and was a member of the RNC Platform Committee.

The decision to appoint Cabrera as ambassador underscores Trump’s commitment to selecting individuals who share his vision for advancing America’s interests abroad. Cabrera’s experience in international trade and his understanding of Latin American politics make him a valuable asset in strengthening diplomatic relations with Panama.

As Cabrera prepares to assume his new role, he is poised to build upon his track record of promoting economic growth and fostering international partnerships. His appointment reflects Trump’s ongoing efforts to surround himself with capable and dedicated individuals who will advance his administration’s agenda on the global stage.
