Trump says he ‘felt very comfortable’ during address to Congress, touts positive coverage from ‘fake news’

President Donald Trump recently reflected on his first address of his second administration to a joint session of Congress in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital. The president expressed that he felt very comfortable during the address and was pleased with the positive feedback he received, even from what he referred to as the “fake news.”

During his speech, which lasted about an hour and 40 minutes, President Trump highlighted the accomplishments of his administration thus far, using his signature “art of the weave” technique to tie each section together. The theme of his address was “the Renewal of the American Dream,” focusing on key issues such as border security, the economy, energy, ending “woke” America, plans for peace around the world, and a strengthened military.

The president’s speech was well-received by the audience, with chants of “USA, USA, USA” breaking out at the start of his address. A CBS News poll showed that 76% of those who watched approved of his speech, while a CNN poll indicated that at least 7 in 10 Americans had a positive reaction, with 44% describing it as “very positive.”

However, the president’s address was briefly interrupted by Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, who was eventually removed from the House Chamber by the Sergeant-at-Arms. In a bipartisan vote, the House of Representatives censured Green for his disruptive behavior during the president’s speech.

President Trump did not hold back in his criticism of Rep. Green, calling him a “fool and a clown” and stating that he should be censured and forced to take an IQ test. Trump further described Green as an embarrassment to Congress and the Democratic Party.

Overall, President Trump’s address to Congress was a success, with many Americans expressing confidence, hope, and empathy in response to his speech.
