Trump says physical showed he’s in ‘good shape’

President Trump provided an update on his health after undergoing his first physical examination of his second term. On Friday, the president revealed that the examination at Walter Reed Medical Center went well, and he feels he is in “very good shape.”

During a press briefing on Air Force One while en route to his home in West Palm Beach, President Trump shared that the examination showed he has a “good heart, a good soul,” and overall, he feels he is in very good shape. He also mentioned that he took a cognitive test and confidently stated that he got every answer right.

“I don’t know what to tell you other than I got every answer right,” President Trump told reporters. “I’ve taken the cognitive test, I think, four times and gotten nothing wrong. That’s what the American people want. Biden refused, Kamala refused.”

The president also mentioned that doctors provided him with some advice on lifestyle changes that could improve his health, but he did not go into specific details. Biden’s yearly presidential exam at Walter Reed last year did not include a cognitive test, and the former president’s mental abilities became a concern during the presidential election last year.

President Trump expressed his expectation that the report from the exam would be released by Sunday. He spent five hours at Walter Reed undergoing various tests.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that a readout of the exam would be released “as soon as we possibly can.” The White House had earlier promised to release the full results of President Trump’s examination.

“I have never felt better, but nevertheless, these things must be done!” President Trump wrote on Truth Social before the exam earlier this week. This examination was also his first presidential physical since surviving an assassination attempt where his ear was grazed by a bullet during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Both President Biden and President Trump’s health have been under scrutiny as they are the two oldest U.S. presidents to ever serve, with President Trump becoming the oldest president to be sworn into office in January. The results of the examination will provide further insights into his health and well-being.
