Trump’s Reaction

Trump expressed his disappointment and questioned whether the damage was a result of vandalism or negligence. He credited White House security equipment for helping to identify the subcontractor responsible.

“I started yelling, ‘Who did this, and I want to find out now!’—and I didn’t say this in a nice manner,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

Resolution

After reviewing security footage, Trump identified the subcontractor as the cause of the damage and vowed to replace the damaged stone. He also stated that the subcontractor would be held accountable and not be permitted to work at the White House again.

“I’ll replace the stone, charge the contractor, and never let that contractor work at the White House again,” Trump wrote. “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
