President Trump Signs Executive Order to Ban Flag-Burning

On Monday, President Trump signed a third executive order to ban flag-burning, stating that individuals caught burning a flag will face one year in jail without the possibility of early release.

During the signing ceremony, President Trump emphasized, “If you burn a flag, you get one year in jail — no early exits, no nothing. And you will see flag-burning stopping immediately.”

President Trump’s executive order also tasks the Department of Justice with investigating incidents of flag-burning to ensure enforcement of the new policy.
