President Donald Trump has pointed fingers at the Democrats following the tragic stabbing of a Ukrainian refugee in Charlotte, North Carolina. The victim, 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska, was brutally attacked and killed on a light rail train by a man with a history of criminal offenses last month.
The incident, captured on surveillance footage released by the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS), shows Zarutska being stabbed multiple times by a man while on board a Lynx Blue line train. Trump took to Truth Social to express his outrage, stating that the Democrats’ failure to address criminal behavior led to the tragic outcome.
Decarlos Brown, the 34-year-old suspect, was arrested shortly after the attack and is facing a charge of first-degree murder. Records reveal that Brown has a lengthy criminal record, including charges of felony larceny and robbery with a dangerous weapon. The attack on Zarutska was deemed random, with Brown having no prior connection to the victim.

Trump’s remarks on the incident have injected the tragedy into the upcoming U.S. Senate race in North Carolina, with the former governor Roy Cooper and Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley as key contenders.
While Cooper’s campaign has not responded to requests for comment, Whatley has criticized Cooper’s approach to crime and security, emphasizing the need for stricter measures to combat violent offenders.

Former Democratic North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, who, last month, threw his hat in the ring for the U.S. Senate.
North Carolina Governor Josh Stein, a Democrat, has also weighed in on the incident, calling for increased funding for law enforcement to address safety concerns and hold criminals accountable.
Trump, during a visit to the Museum of the Bible, reiterated the need to confront evil and ensure the safety of all individuals.
