Trump to host June military parade to commemorate Army’s 250th birthday

President Donald Trump is set to host a grand military parade in June to honor military veterans and active-duty service members, as well as commemorate the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday. The parade, scheduled for June 14th, coincides with both the 250th anniversary of the United States Army and President Trump’s birthday.

The event is expected to feature reenactors, equipment, and artifacts from various significant wars in American history, including the Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War/Desert Storm, and the Global War on Terror. Additionally, active-duty service members and students from U.S. military academies will participate in the parade.

White House Domestic Policy Council Director Vince Haley expressed the importance of honoring the sacrifices made by generations of Americans who have served in the military. He emphasized that the parade is a tribute to those who have risked everything for the nation’s freedom throughout its history.

In January, President Trump signed an executive order establishing “Task Force 250” to coordinate plans and activities surrounding the celebration of the 250th anniversary of American independence, culminating on July 4, 2026. The task force is working closely with the Pentagon, the Department of Homeland Security, the National Parks Service, and other agencies to organize the parade.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth praised the upcoming parade as a demonstration of the nation’s appreciation for its military personnel. He described it as the “biggest and most beautiful military parade in our nation’s history” in honor of the U.S. Army’s milestone anniversary.

Task Force 250 aims to build upon the success of the U.S. Bicentennial Celebration fifty years ago, emphasizing national unity and renewal of founding ideals. The celebration will highlight significant events in American history, including the anniversaries of Patrick Henry’s iconic speech, Paul Revere’s ride, and the Battles of Lexington and Concord.

The executive order also reinstated the establishment of the National Garden of American Heroes, a statuary park honoring 250 historically significant Americans. This initiative aims to protect American monuments, memorials, and statues from destruction or vandalism, preserving the nation’s heritage and values for future generations.

President Trump’s previous “Salute To America” event in 2019 showcased military hardware, flyovers, and a patriotic address on Independence Day, setting the stage for similar celebrations in the future. The White House envisions America’s 250th anniversary as an opportunity to unite the nation around its shared history and future as a beacon of liberty and democracy.
