Trump win moves cheerleader’s mom to tears as illegal immigrant faces murder case

The tragic murder of 16-year-old Lizbeth Medina in her own home last December at the hands of an illegal immigrant from Mexico has left her mother, Jacqueline Medina, devastated. However, the recent victory of former President Donald Trump in the election has brought her a glimmer of hope.

Jacqueline tearfully expressed her relief at the news of Trump’s win, believing that stricter laws and policies under his administration could help prevent such tragedies from happening again. She emphasized the need to protect children, families, and loved ones from senseless violence like what her family endured.

Lizbeth, described as beautiful, loving, bubbly, and funny, was found dead in the bathtub of their home on December 5, 2023. The alleged murderer, Rafael Govea Romero, is set to face trial next month on a capital murder charge.

The heartbreaking ordeal began when Jacqueline returned home from work to find her daughter missing, leading to a frantic search that ended in the tragic discovery of Lizbeth’s lifeless body. Romero, who had a criminal history and was on probation at the time of his arrest, is believed to have been involved in a burglary at their home prior to the murder.

Despite her unimaginable loss, Jacqueline remains determined to seek justice for her daughter and honor her memory. She has set up a scholarship fund in Lizbeth’s name for the cheerleaders in Edna and continues to support child advocacy efforts.

As the trial for Romero approaches, Jacqueline hopes that her daughter’s story will inspire change and prevent other families from experiencing similar pain. She plans to follow the trial of another illegal immigrant suspect, Jose Ibarra, accused of murdering Georgia college student Laken Riley, and offer her support to Riley’s family.
