Trump won’t continue Ukraine funding amid peace talks, White House says

Fox News introduces a new feature where you can now listen to their articles instead of reading them. This comes as the U.S. expresses a lack of interest in providing open-ended funding for Ukraine amid ongoing peace talks to end the conflict with Russia.

President Donald Trump has made it clear that the U.S. will not continue to write blank checks to fund a war far away. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Trump is sensitive to the needs of American taxpayers and has come up with a creative solution for NATO to purchase American weaponry to support Ukraine.

Congress has already passed legislation totaling at least $175 billion in spending to aid Ukraine since February 2022. Additionally, Trump approved a deal allowing European allies to purchase U.S. weapons, like Patriot missile defense systems, for Ukraine.

Vice President JD Vance has also emphasized the need for European allies to take on a greater role in funding and ending the conflict in Ukraine. He has urged them to step up and play a more direct and substantial role in supporting the war efforts.

As this story continues to develop, stay tuned for updates.
