Trump’s 2023 mugshot spotted hanging in ornate frame near Oval Office

A framed copy of President Donald Trump’s 2023 mugshot from the New York Post has been spotted hanging in an ornate gold frame near the Oval Office in the White House. The photo, taken at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia after Trump turned himself in on August 24, 2023, made headlines around the world the following day.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Trump revealed that Georgia officials insisted on taking his mugshot during processing at the jail, despite him claiming he had done nothing wrong. He described the experience as uncomfortable and unsettling.

The photo, which closely resembles Trump’s official White House portrait, was shared on social media by Margo Martin, Trump’s special assistant and communications advisor. White House deputy chief of staff, Dan Scavino, later posted a video on X providing context on the frame’s placement just outside the Oval Office.

The charges against Trump stem from allegations that he attempted to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results, a case that remains unresolved. The Trump campaign dismissed the indictment as a “pathetic attempt” by the Biden administration.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who filed the charges, is currently appealing a ruling that disqualified her and her office from prosecuting the case. A new prosecutor has yet to be assigned.

Several co-defendants, including Scott Hall, Sidney Powell, Kenneth Chesebro, and Jenna Ellis, have accepted plea deals in connection with the case.

The presence of Trump’s mugshot in the White House has sparked controversy and debate. It remains to be seen how this development will impact the ongoing legal proceedings and Trump’s political future.
