Trump’s top accomplishments 50 days into his return to the Oval Office

President Donald Trump has been back in the Oval Office for 50 days, and it has been a whirlwind of activity since his return. From signing dozens of executive orders to overhauling federal agencies and rolling out economic plans, Trump has been on a mission to make America great again.
In a joint speech before Congress on March 4, Trump declared, “America is back.” He touted his administration’s accomplishments, saying, “We have accomplished more in 43 days than most administrations accomplished in four years or eight years. And we are just getting started.”
Since taking office, Trump has signed at least 89 executive orders, more than any other president in their first 50 days. These orders have covered a wide range of issues, from ending controversial practices like biological males playing on girls’ sports teams to establishing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
However, Trump’s aggressive approach has not been without controversy. His administration has faced at least 102 lawsuits, including legal challenges surrounding DOGE and its chair, Elon Musk. Musk and his team have been conducting audits of federal agencies, leading to thousands of federal layoffs and protests from Democrats and federal employees.
Despite the backlash, Trump has continued to champion DOGE’s findings, highlighting examples of federal waste in his speeches. He has also focused on immigration, cracking down on illegal border crossings and deporting violent criminal illegal immigrants.
On the economic front, Trump has implemented tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, as well as on imports from China to curb the flow of fentanyl into the U.S. He has also announced reciprocal tariffs on foreign nations, set to take effect in April, in a bid to attract foreign industries to set up shop in America.
The president has seen some success on the economic front, with businesses announcing billions of dollars in investments and pledges to increase U.S.-based production efforts. International diplomacy has also been a focus, with Trump meeting with world leaders like Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UK PM Keir Starmer, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss a range of issues, including the Russia-Ukraine war.
Despite the challenges and controversies, Trump remains focused on his mission to make America great again. With his first 50 days in office behind him, the president shows no signs of slowing down as he continues to push his agenda forward.
