Truro region receiving $150K for low-carbon energy projects

TRURO, N.S. — More details on two low-carbon energy projects in Truro have been released by the provincial government.

The $75,000 grant for the town’s GHG emission study provided through the $1.8-million Low Carbon Communities program announced in December, will be used to help the municipality set emission targets, develop a local action plan and then implement, monitor and verify that plan.

The town and the Municipality of the County of Cumberland are also receiving $75,000 to put toward a five-milliwatt solar garden in Springhill.

“Truro’s commitment to a low carbon future represents our dedication to environmental stewardship and community well-being,” said Truro-Bible Hill-Millbrook-Salmon River MLA Ritcey.

“These projects mark significant progress in our journey towards a sustainable world.”
