Canada Advances to Gold Medal Game at U-18 Women’s World Hockey Championship

Canada’s under-18 women’s hockey team secured a spot in the gold medal game at the world championship in Finland after defeating Czechia 4-2 in the semifinals on Saturday.

Leading the way for Canada were Caileigh Tiller and Stryker Zablocki, each contributing a goal and an assist, while Hayley McDonald and Sofia Ismael also found the back of the net.

Chloe Primerano added two assists to her name, supporting the Canadian offense, and goaltender Marilou Grenier made 19 saves on 21 shots faced.

Czechia’s Linda Vocetkova and Julie Jebouskova managed to score against Canada, with Daniela Novakova making 43 saves in a losing effort.

The stage is now set for Canada to face off against the United States in the championship game at Vantaa Trio Arena on Sunday.

Earlier on Saturday, the Americans secured their spot in the final with a narrow 2-1 victory over Sweden.
