Undercover calls expose Planned Parenthood fast-tracking teens for hormone treatments

Planned Parenthood Exposed for Providing Cross-Sex Hormonal Treatments to Minors
In a groundbreaking revelation, pro-life activist group Live Action has released undercover phone calls exposing Planned Parenthood clinics across several states offering cross-sex hormonal treatments to minors as young as 16 with very little parental or medical supervision. The group is now urging Congress to defund Planned Parenthood of hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer funding.
The undercover investigation conducted by Live Action involved a woman posing as a 16-year-old minor calling dozens of Planned Parenthood locations seeking “gender-affirming care.” Shockingly, at least seven facilities told her they would prescribe cross-sex hormones at the first appointment.
What’s even more alarming is that several Planned Parenthood facilities assured the caller that she could choose to meet with a provider virtually and have access to cross-sex hormones as quickly as the same day, despite the person posing as a minor saying they had just begun considering changing her sex. Facilities in Minnesota and Oregon even stated they could schedule the minor within days or on the same day.
Furthermore, five facilities stated that no prior therapy, mental health clearance, or prior documentation was needed for her to obtain cross-sex hormones. This lack of oversight and haste in providing such treatments to vulnerable minors is deeply concerning.
Cross-sex hormonal treatments, such as taking testosterone or estrogen, are meant to alter the body to exhibit characteristics that align with a person’s “gender identity.” However, besides altering the natural makeup and functions of the body, these treatments can have harmful side effects, including permanent infertility.
Live Action President Lila Rose expressed shock at the findings, stating that Planned Parenthood is fast-tracking vulnerable children into irreversible hormone treatments with almost no medical oversight. She emphasized that these dangerous drugs can sterilize, stunt growth, and leave lifelong scars, labeling it as child abuse that must be stopped.
In response to these revelations, Live Action is calling on Congress to defund Planned Parenthood of all taxpayer funding it receives from the federal government. With Planned Parenthood receiving over $700 million in taxpayer dollars annually, there is a pressing need to address this issue and ensure that taxpayer funds are not supporting such practices.
This news comes amidst reports that House Republicans are considering measures to potentially end federal funding of groups like Planned Parenthood as part of cost-saving efforts. House Speaker Mike Johnson has indicated that Republicans will target “big abortion” in the budget reconciliation process.
Planned Parenthood did not immediately respond to requests for comment on these allegations. It is clear that there is a growing push to address the issues raised by Live Action’s investigation and ensure the protection of minors seeking healthcare services.
In conclusion, it is imperative that steps are taken to address the lack of oversight and potential harm posed by providing cross-sex hormonal treatments to minors without proper medical evaluation and supervision. The safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals, especially minors, must be prioritized in all healthcare practices.
