Vehicle seen driving on wrong side of Highway 104 linked to suspected arson at home in Bible Hill: RCMP

BIBLE HILL, N.S. — Police are investigating a suspected arson after a vehicle was seen driving on the wrong side of Highway 104 and then abandoned Sunday. 

Emergency personnel responded to a house fire on Pictou Road in Bible Hill at about 2:30 a.m. 

Before police arrived, all occupants of the home had safely left while firefighters worked on extinguishing the blaze. 

Mounties examined the scene, leading them to suspect arson as the cause. 

Around the same time, an RCMP officer witnessed a vehicle travelling on the wrong side of Highway 104, near the interchange with Highway 102. 

A short time later, the vehicle, described as a grey 2008 Honda Accord bearing the Nova Scotia licence plate GJU921, was found abandoned on the side of Highway 104 with no occupants. 

Items believed to be connected to the suspected arson were also found in the vehicle. 

The car was seized and RCMP are carrying out a forensic examination of the vehicle.
