Malls Can Be Stressful, Just Ask Crystal the Boxer
Shopping malls can be chaotic, especially during the holiday season. It’s not uncommon to feel the urge to escape and head home as soon as possible – even if you happen to have four legs instead of two. Just take Crystal, the three-year-old boxer, for example.
Crystal recently became an internet sensation after a video captured her laying on the horn of her owner’s car outside the Chahko Mika Mall in Nelson, British Columbia. The disgruntled dog’s actions were a sight to behold, as she appeared fed up with the shopping experience.
The video, recorded by Brenna Boyd, showed Crystal causing quite a stir in the mall’s parking lot. Boyd shared that she first heard the car horn while entering the Save-On-Foods at the mall and, after it continued for 10 minutes, decided to investigate the source of the commotion.
Following the sound, Boyd discovered Crystal behind the wheel of the car, wearing an expression of annoyance. According to Boyd, this behavior is not out of the ordinary for Crystal, who seems to be eager to head back home to her food and toys whenever she’s out and about.
The video, posted on Facebook by Boyd’s husband, quickly gained traction online, garnering over 60,000 views. Commenters were quick to weigh in on Crystal’s antics, with one describing it as a “total boxer move.”
Boxers are known for their expressive nature and independent streak, often straying from conventional obedience norms, as noted by the American Kennel Club. Crystal’s owner clarified in the Facebook comments that the dog was not left in the car for an extended period and was appropriately dressed in a cozy jacket.
While some have suggested submitting the video to America’s Funniest Home Videos, Boyd is content with the joy it has brought to viewers during the holiday season. She expressed gratitude for the positive impact the video has had on people’s spirits.
