VP Vance trolls Democrats on liberal-dominated Bluesky after joining

Vice President JD Vance is making waves on the social media platform Bluesky, a competitor to X that is popular among liberals. Just one week after joining Bluesky, Vance has become the platform’s most blocked user, according to data from ClearSky.
In his inaugural Bluesky post on June 18, Vance shared a quote from Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’ opinion on transgender surgeries for minors. He questioned the use of “experimental therapies” on youth and suggested that scientists may be influenced by big pharma to push these treatments.
Bluesky is a social media platform that gained popularity among liberals and Democratic officials after they left X following President Donald Trump’s election victory in 2024. Owned by Elon Musk, a Trump ally, X has seen an influx of liberal users seeking an alternative platform.
Vance’s account on Bluesky was temporarily suspended after being flagged as a potential impostor account. However, it was quickly reinstated, and a verified badge was added to confirm its authenticity.
Despite being the most blocked user on Bluesky, Vance has not shied away from trolling Democrats on the platform. Following New York City’s mayoral primaries, where democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani won, Vance congratulated Mamdani and sarcastically referred to him as the new leader of the Democratic Party.
Vance has also taken jabs at Democrats on various issues, including foreign policy and immigration. His posts have sparked backlash from Democrats, including Sen. Alex Padilla, whom Vance mistakenly referred to as “Jose” Padilla.
Although Vance has only posted a few messages on Bluesky, his presence on the platform has garnered attention. He has shared insights on foreign policy and American interests, emphasizing the use of overwhelming force when necessary.
Overall, Vance’s engagement on Bluesky highlights the platform’s role as a space for political discussion and analysis. As he continues to interact with users and share his views, it remains to be seen how his presence will shape the conversations on Bluesky.
