The elite race attracts a global crowd but also doubles as the Canadian championships.
Canadian women’s record holder Natasha Wodak will compete in the event, while other Canadians to watch include Leslie Sexton, Rachel Hannah, and Erin Mawhinney.
On the men’s side, Thomas Broatch will be back and attempt to defend the 2023 Canadian men’s title. He was the first Canadian man to cross the finish line last year, finishing sixth overall in his marathon debut.
Tristan Woodfine and Justin Kent are other Canadian men that could push Broatch for the title.
The Toronto Waterfront Marathon celebrates its 35th anniversary this year and organizers said there would be 35 cheer sites along the course.
