WestJet Flight Experiences Rough Landing in St. Maarten

WestJet reported that a flight from Toronto had a rough landing at Princess Juliana International Airport in St. Maarten on Sunday afternoon.

The airline issued a statement on their website, stating that flight WS2276 experienced a hard landing at around 1 p.m. ET. As a precaution, foam was deployed and the plane’s slides were activated, allowing all passengers and crew to safely evacuate and be taken to the terminal.

Fortunately, all passengers were accounted for and there were no reported injuries resulting from the incident.

WestJet is currently working with local authorities to confirm the exact nature of the incident and will provide further updates as information becomes available.
