White House posts Usher-themed meme after NATO chief calls Trump ‘daddy’

The White House social media team recently released a hilarious spoof video that poked fun at a viral moment from the NATO Summit. The video featured Secretary General Mark Rutte referring to President Donald Trump as “daddy,” set to the tune of the Usher hit “Daddy’s Home.” The video showcased Trump’s arrival at the Dutch palace, his meetings with world leaders, and his handshake with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, all while being cheered on by supporters as he arrived home aboard Air Force One.

The video quickly went viral, sparking a frenzy on social media. Internet personality Mario Nawfal commented, “Presidential meme game reaching unprecedented levels.” The clip garnered praise for its creativity and humor, with political commentator Benny Johnson calling it “easily the best thing on the internet.”

However, not everyone was amused by the video. ABC News correspondent Jonathan Karl criticized it as an “official product of the WH communications office,” while former Rep. Adam Kinzinger, an anti-Trump Republican, described it as “super straight and super alpha male.”

During a bilateral meeting with Trump in The Hague, Netherlands, Rutte defended Trump’s use of strong language to criticize Israel and Iran for threatening the ceasefire he brokered. Rutte jokingly remarked, “Daddy has to sometimes use strong language.” Trump had expressed frustration with the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, stating that they “don’t know what they’re doing.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio couldn’t contain his laughter when asked about the “daddy” comment during a news conference at the summit. Rutte and Trump have been united in their efforts to push NATO allies to increase defense spending, with the alliance agreeing to Trump’s demand for each member state to boost defense spending to 5%.
