White House slams judge for blocking Trump’s migrant parole revocation

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt did not hold back during a press briefing on Tuesday, criticizing what she called “rogue” judges for blocking the Trump administration’s attempts to revoke the legal status and work permits of over 530,000 migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.

During the briefing, Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Peter Doocy questioned Leavitt about the contrast between President Joe Biden being able to establish a program with ease while Trump faced obstacles in ending it. Leavitt responded by calling out “another rogue district court judge” for interfering with the administration’s efforts to deport individuals.

Leavitt also accused the Biden administration of misuse of the parole system to expedite legal status for illegal immigrants, vowing to continue deporting as many individuals as possible. The recent injunction by Judge Indira Talwani, an Obama appointee, mandated individualized case-by-case reviews for each of the affected migrants.

According to officials from the Department of Homeland Security and the Trump administration, Talwani’s ruling essentially prevents Trump from revoking parole granted by Biden during his tenure. This move was described as “pure lawless tyranny” by a Trump administration official.

The program in question, known as CHNV, allowed migrants from the four mentioned countries to enter the U.S. through humanitarian parole after obtaining advance travel authorization. Under CHNV, up to 30,000 nationals per month were permitted to enter the country. Republicans had been vocal in their opposition to the program, calling on the Biden administration to terminate it due to the challenges at the southern border.

In response to the ongoing legal battles and challenges, Leavitt reiterated the administration’s commitment to deporting individuals and enforcing immigration laws. The situation remains fluid, with both sides entrenched in their positions.

As the story continues to unfold, it is clear that the intersection of immigration policy and judicial decisions will remain a contentious issue for the foreseeable future. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
