Wife of US hostage Keith Siegel pleads for holiday miracle: ‘we need to get them back’
Aviva Siegel, the wife of American hostage Keith Siegel and a former hostage herself, is making a heartfelt plea for the release of her husband and the other hostages currently held by Hamas in Gaza. In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Aviva shared her concerns about the deteriorating condition of her husband after more than 440 days in captivity.
In a video released by Hamas in April, Aviva noted that Keith appeared emaciated and frail, a stark contrast to his usual self. She expressed deep worry for his well-being, as well as the other hostages who are enduring unimaginable conditions in captivity.
Aviva and Keith were abducted from their home in Kibbutz Kfar Aza in October 2023 and held together for 51 days before she was released in a hostage exchange. Since then, Aviva has been tirelessly advocating for Keith’s release, meeting with officials in the U.S. and Israel and traveling frequently to raise awareness about the hostages’ plight.
Reflecting on their time together in captivity, Aviva described Keith as a pillar of strength who supported and uplifted those around him. She recalled their last moments together before her release, urging him to stay strong and hopeful for their eventual reunion.
Efforts to secure the release of the hostages are ongoing, with top security officials from the U.S., Egypt, and Qatar working to broker a cease-fire and negotiate the return of the hostages. Reports suggest that a potential exchange involving 34 hostages could be imminent, offering a glimmer of hope for their families.
Despite the challenges and uncertainties ahead, Aviva remains steadfast in her belief that Keith and the other hostages will come home safely. She dreams of the day when she can embrace her husband once again and watch their grandchildren run into his arms.
As the world watches and waits for a resolution, Aviva continues to advocate for the hostages’ release, emphasizing the urgent need for their safe return. With optimism on the horizon and international pressure mounting on Hamas, there is hope that a positive outcome may be within reach.
