Will Ferrell appears at Kings game as disheveled Buddy the Elf

Actor Will Ferrell made a surprise appearance at the Los Angeles Kings’ game against the Philadelphia Flyers, dressed as his iconic character Buddy the Elf. The comedic actor sported a disheveled Buddy the Elf costume complete with a cigarette hanging from his mouth, much to the delight of fans in attendance.
Ferrell, a longtime Kings fan, was rinkside to witness the team’s thrilling 5-4 victory over the Flyers. The Kings, who improved their record to 21-10-5, solidified their position as one of the top teams in the Western Conference with the win.
FanDuel Sports reporter Carrlyn Bathe shared on the broadcast that she had a chance to chat with Ferrell during the game. The actor reportedly mentioned that it had been a tough holiday season for him and that he was hoping for a Kings victory to lift his spirits.
Fortunately for Ferrell and his family, Kings star Anze Kopitar stepped up in the third period to secure the win. Kopitar scored two crucial goals in the final period, while Adrian Kempe also contributed with a goal and an assist.
In addition to Kopitar’s heroics, Kevin Fiala and Warren Foegele also found the back of the net for the Kings. Despite trailing 4-2 midway through the second period, the team rallied to claim the victory, with goalkeeper David Rittich making 17 saves to preserve the win.
Ferrell’s support for the Kings is well-known, as he has been seen at Crypto.com Arena cheering on the team on multiple occasions. In the past, he even painted his face in the team’s black and white colors to show his dedication during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
As fans continue to celebrate the holiday season, Ferrell’s appearance as Buddy the Elf served as a nostalgic reminder of the classic Christmas film’s enduring popularity. “Elf,” which turned 21 years old in November, remains a beloved holiday favorite, having grossed over $228.9 million at the box office since its release in 2003.
