Woman, 22, dies after ATV-car crash in Hants County

A tragic accident in Hants County over the weekend has left a 22-year-old woman from Milford, N.S. dead. The crash occurred between a Can-Am side-by-side and a Honda Accord on Highway 214 in Belnan, N.S. According to a news release from East Hants District RCMP, the collision took place around 8 p.m on Saturday.

Both vehicles were traveling on the road when the accident occurred. The woman, who was a passenger in the side-by-side, sustained critical injuries and unfortunately passed away in the hospital. The driver of the side-by-side, a 27-year-old man from Nine Mile River, N.S., suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Following the incident, police conducted a roadside breath sample and suspended the man’s license. He was also issued a ticket for operating an off-road vehicle on the highway. Two adults who were in the Honda Accord at the time of the collision sustained minor injuries.

The RCMP have engaged a collision reconstructionist to assist with the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the young woman who lost her life in this tragic accident.
