WWE star ‘feeling in danger’ after scary ‘romantic’ advances during fan interactions
WWE superstar Asuka, a four-time world champion, recently opened up about feeling in danger due to fan interactions that have crossed the line with “romantic” advances. Asuka, whose real name is Kanako Urai, took to her X account to express her concerns and reveal that she has contacted the police for assistance.
In her posts, Asuka shared her unease about the situation, stating, “I’ve been feeling in danger recently. I’ve already consulted the police. At this rate, even if fans approach me at the airport or in the city, I will feel the possibility that something might happen, and it will scare me, making me unable to respond.”
Although Asuka did not specify the exact incidents that led to her distress, she made it clear that she wants fans to stop harboring “romantic feelings” towards her. She emphasized, “It’s meaningless – 100% pointless. There is absolutely no possibility for others to interfere in my private life.”
This is not the first time a WWE star has faced such alarming situations. Sonya Deville, another wrestler, had to deal with a fan who attempted to abduct her at her home in Florida. The fan, Phillip Thomas, was ultimately sentenced to 15 years in prison for attempted kidnapping, aggravated stalking, and armed burglary.
Asuka, currently sidelined due to a knee injury that required surgery in May 2024, has been taking a break from wrestling. Despite her absence, she remains one of the most accomplished wrestlers in the industry, having held the NXT women’s championship for an extended period and winning prestigious events like the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank.
