Halifax police investigating two armed robberies at Dartmouth stores

Cigarettes and cash were stolen during separate armed robberies in Dartmouth on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.
In the first, at Needs Convenience at 100 Highfield Park Dr. at about 5:10 p.m., Halifax Regional Police said a man armed with a knife threatened an employee, demanded cash and cigarettes and fled on foot with his loot.
The suspect is described as white, in his 20s, with dark hair and he was wearing a black hoodie, blue jogging pants with red lettering, white sneakers and a black and white bandana.
About 12 hours later at the Ultramar at 640 Windmill Rd., police said a man believed to have a gun threatened the employee and demanded cash and cigarettes, fleeing on foot with the latter.
He’s described as a Caucasian male in his 20s to 30s, with black hair and a goatee, standing about five-foot-four, and having a slim build. He was wearing a gold jacket, black pants and grey sneakers.
Police said there is evidence to suggest the same man committed both robberies and ask anyone with information or video from the areas to call them at 902-490-5020 or tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
