LITTLE HARBOUR, N.S. — A 36-year-old man was pronounced dead after going into distress at an unsupervised beach off Plover Lane in Little Harbour, N.S. on Wednesday.
The RCMP, along with fire and emergency health services, were dispatched to a report of drowning around 1:15 p.m. on July 26.
A member of the public saw the man was in trouble and tried to help. The man was unconscious when he was brought to shore.
“The man was taken to hospital by ambulance, and despite CPR efforts, was later pronounced deceased,” said Cpl. Chris Marshall, a spokesperson for the RCMP.
The incident is not believed to be connected to the flooding conditions from last weekend’s weather.
