Republican mocks Dems for standing with illegal criminals: ‘Put up or shut up’

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, has once again criticized Democrats for their unwavering support of illegal immigrants like alleged MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia over U.S. citizens. Cruz suggested that the Democrats’ actions are a result of their intense disdain for former President Donald Trump, which he referred to as “Trump derangement syndrome.”

Cruz’s remarks came after Democratic lawmakers, including Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen, made a trip to El Salvador to advocate for Abrego Garcia’s return to the U.S. following his deportation to his home country. Additionally, Newark, N.J., Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested after joining members of Congress in storming an ICE detention facility.

“It is a very bizarre political decision that the Democrats have made,” Cruz stated. “They have chosen to align themselves with illegal immigrants and gang members.”

He continued, “The majority of Americans do not want more violent criminals and gang members in our country. It is unfortunate that the Democrats have become so extreme in their opposition to Donald Trump that their primary focus is on supporting illegal immigrants and gang members.”

Despite claims from many Democrats that Abrego Garcia is innocent and was wrongfully deported, evidence has emerged indicating that he is indeed a member of the MS-13 gang. Police and court records show that he was arrested in Maryland in 2019 and identified as an MS-13 gang member.

Furthermore, a federal immigration court in Baltimore determined that Abrego Garcia posed a danger to others due to his affiliation with MS-13. There are also reports of him being involved in human smuggling activities.

Court documents filed by Abrego Garcia’s wife allege that he has a history of physical and verbal abuse towards her and her children. Despite these troubling allegations, the Supreme Court upheld a lower court’s decision ordering his return to the U.S.

In response to questions about Abrego Garcia’s actions, Sen. Van Hollen emphasized the importance of due process and adherence to the Constitution. He called for a fair legal process to determine the appropriate course of action.

The Trump administration has expressed willingness to facilitate Abrego Garcia’s return to the U.S., but ultimately, the decision lies with El Salvador. It is crucial to ensure that the legal rights and safety of all individuals involved are protected.

As the debate over immigration and criminal activity continues, it is essential to prioritize the well-being of all individuals and uphold the rule of law. Sen. Cruz’s criticisms serve as a reminder of the complexities and challenges surrounding these issues, urging a balanced and thoughtful approach to addressing them.
