GOP demands Biden staffers testify on ‘cover-up’ of president’s mental decline

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, is making waves with his demand for high-ranking staffers in former President Joe Biden’s White House to appear for transcribed interviews regarding their suspected roles in covering up the former president’s mental decline during his time in office.
Comer has sent interview requests to four key Biden White House aides, including former director of the Domestic Policy Council Neera Tanden, former assistant to the President and Deputy Chief of Staff Annie Tomasini, former senior adviser to the first lady Anthony Bernal, and former deputy director of Oval Office operations Ashley Williams. Comer alleges that these staffers worked behind the scenes to shield President Biden from scrutiny regarding his deteriorating mental condition.
In addition to these staffers, Comer has also requested a transcribed interview with Biden’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor. The chairman believes that these individuals had significant influence over Biden and may have been acting as de facto presidents during his tenure.
Comer’s efforts come on the heels of the release of the book “Original Sin” by CNN host Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson, which delves into the Biden White House’s attempts to manage public perception of the president’s declining health. Tapper has compared the cover-up of Biden’s mental decline to the Watergate scandal, calling it a scandal that may be even worse.
In his letters to the former White House staffers, Comer emphasized the need to uncover the truth behind the cover-up of Biden’s mental decline. He stated that the American people deserve to know when the decline began, how far it progressed, and who was making critical decisions on Biden’s behalf.
Comer has warned that any obstruction of the committee’s investigation will be met with swift and decisive action, including the issuance of subpoenas to compel testimony. He has also hinted at the possibility of issuing subpoenas to former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, as well as Hunter Biden and Jill Biden, if necessary.
Fox News Digital reached out to the individuals mentioned for comment, but responses were not immediately available. The investigation into the alleged cover-up of Biden’s mental decline continues to unfold, with Comer leading the charge in seeking answers and accountability.
