House lawmaker pushes for new committee to probe Biden decline ‘cover up’

House Republicans are making a bold move to launch a new select committee focused on investigating the Biden administration for allegedly concealing signs of the 82-year-old former president’s decline. Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., is spearheading this effort by introducing legislation that aims to establish a panel of congressional investigators to delve into President Joe Biden’s cognitive and physical health decline and the potential concealment of information from the American public.

The bill text obtained by Fox News Digital highlights the need to investigate not only President Biden but also former Vice President Kamala Harris and former first lady Jill Biden, as well as anyone involved in withholding audio tapes of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s interview with Biden. Additionally, the select committee would look into allegations that Biden’s allies concealed his prostate cancer diagnosis before it was publicly announced just last week. Biden’s spokesperson has denied having prior knowledge of the diagnosis.

One particular focus of the investigation would be the use of the autopen in the White House to sign important legislation. Rep. Carter emphasized the seriousness of the situation, calling it potentially the biggest political scandal of our lifetime. He stressed the importance of uncovering the truth about who was truly running the White House during Biden’s presidency.

Rep. Carter, who is currently running for Senate in Georgia, has been vocal in his concerns about Biden’s mental state. Last year, he was among several Republicans who urged Biden to take a cognitive test. His new resolution comes in the wake of House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., launching his own investigation into revelations surrounding Biden’s cognitive decline.

Comer’s investigation will focus on the role of former senior White House officials in potentially usurping authority from Biden and the implications of a staff allegedly intent on hiding his declining mental and physical faculties. This move underscores the growing scrutiny from Republicans on Biden’s health and the actions taken by those close to him.

First-term Rep. Jimmy Patronis, R-Fla., has also called for a similar select committee, highlighting the bipartisan concern over Biden’s health and the need for transparency in government. As these investigations unfold, it is clear that House Republicans are determined to get to the bottom of what they see as a significant cover-up in the Biden administration.
