Man Charged with Kidnapping After Child Grabbed in East Hants
Authorities in East Hants, Nova Scotia have charged a 34-year-old man with five offences, including kidnapping, following an alarming incident in Admiral Rock on Monday afternoon.
According to a press release from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the abduction was reported at 3:20 p.m. on Mosher Road.
Reportedly, two children were riding their bicycles when a man flagged them down at the end of a driveway. Despite not knowing the children, the man allegedly grabbed one of the kids by the arm and forcibly took them into a nearby home.
Once inside, the man exposed himself and made threats towards the child. Fortunately, the child managed to escape by screaming and running for help. Both children involved in the incident were unharmed, as confirmed by the police.
The accused individual, who hails from Admiral Rock, is facing charges of kidnapping, invitation to sexual touching, assault, uttering threats, and indecent exposure.
Admiral Rock, a small community located approximately 40 kilometers southwest of Truro, is now reeling from the shocking events that transpired on Monday.
