Ceasefire between Israel and Iran agreed after 12-day conflict, Trump says

President Donald Trump has announced a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran after days of missile exchanges, bringing an end to what he referred to as the ’12-day war.’ In a phased implementation over 24 hours, the ceasefire will see a complete halt to hostilities between the two nations.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump shared, “CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered ENDED!” He praised both countries for their “Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence” in reaching this agreement.

The ceasefire will begin with Iran initiating the halt, followed by Israel 12 hours later. After 24 hours, the war will officially be declared over. Trump expressed gratitude for avoiding a prolonged conflict that could have destabilized the entire Middle East, emphasizing blessings for Israel, Iran, the Middle East, the United States, and the world.

A senior Iranian official confirmed the ceasefire deal, with a diplomat revealing that President Trump, Qatar’s Emir, and Prime Minister played key roles in securing the agreement. Despite recent missile attacks on the Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, all parties set aside their grievances to prioritize regional security and achieve peace.

The announcement comes after Iran retaliated against Trump’s attack on Tehran’s nuclear program, highlighting the importance of diplomacy in resolving conflicts. Trump’s efforts to broker peace between Israel and Iran demonstrate a commitment to stability in the region.
