‘Subway Takes’ host reveals why Harris’ ‘really bad’ interview never aired

Former Vice President Kamala Harris recently sat down for an interview with social media personality Kareem Rahma for his popular series “Subway Takes.” However, the interview never aired due to Harris offering a take that Rahma described as “weird” and “not good.” In a recent interview with Forbes’ Steven Bertoni, Rahma revealed that the footage was so bad that they both decided not to publish it.

According to Rahma, Harris’ take was so confusing that he felt fortunate it didn’t make the final cut. He described her take as “bacon as a spice,” a statement that left him baffled. As a Muslim, Rahma found Harris’ comments about bacon particularly troubling, as consuming pork is prohibited in Islam.

The interview with Harris took place during the summer of 2024, but Rahma chose not to release it out of respect for the Muslim community. He had hoped to ask Harris about the Biden administration’s policy regarding the Israel–Hamas conflict, but the conversation took a strange turn when Harris started talking about bacon and anchovies.

Harris’ campaign reportedly apologized for the controversial comments and offered to reshoot the episode, but Rahma declined. He didn’t want to upset the Muslim community or be associated with Harris’ controversial take on bacon.

Rahma’s decision not to air the interview with Harris comes after he previously featured Minnesota Governor Tim Walz on his series, where they discussed gutter maintenance. Walz’s interview was posted in August 2024, leading up to the 2024 election.

Overall, the interview with Harris was a missed opportunity for Rahma to delve into important political issues, as her strange take on bacon overshadowed any meaningful discussion. Despite the setback, Rahma remains committed to providing engaging content for his audience and ensuring that his interviews are respectful and thoughtful.
