Murder Arrang after the woman was found dead

A man was arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a woman found with serious head injury.

The woman was declared dead on the spot after she was found on Keighley Road in Illingworth, near Halifax, just after 13:30 BST on Wednesday, said the West Yorkshire police.

A spokesperson for the force said that the scene remained demolished on Thursday.

Officers said that a 40-year-old man from Halifax was arrested and stays in custody.

Det CH INCH TOM LEVITT said that the police were not looking for other suspects in connection with death.

“It is clear that such an incident will cause shock in communities and officers today carry reassurance patrols in the area and speak with community partners,” he said.
