U.S. Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, has officially thrown his hat into the ring for the Texas Attorney General race. Roy, who currently represents Texas’ 21st Congressional District in the U.S. House, announced his candidacy in a campaign video where he emphasized the importance of upholding Texas’ values of “liberty, freedom, and self-determination.”
In a statement accompanying the video, Roy stated, “Texas has a long and proud tradition of standing up to defend our homes, our freedom, and our communities. I am running for Attorney General to continue that legacy, unafraid to fight, unafraid to win, and unafraid to defend Texas at every opportunity. #LiveFree”
