President Donald Trump cast doubt on Democratic Maryland Governor Wes Moore’s potential presidential aspirations, citing a previous encounter where Moore allegedly praised Trump before his presidency. During a recent Cabinet meeting, Trump recounted a chance meeting with Moore at a sports event where the governor allegedly commended Trump’s leadership.
The encounter, captured on camera, showed Moore expressing admiration for Trump’s work, only to later criticize him publicly as a “dictator.” Trump also claimed that Moore had previously referred to him as “the greatest president” in Moore’s lifetime during the Army–Navy game in 2024.

Moore, however, refuted Trump’s claims in a radio interview, asserting that the alleged conversation never took place and emphasizing his commitment to integrity. The governor highlighted his opposition to Trump during the 2024 election campaign, contradicting Trump’s version of events at the Army–Navy game.
