Ontario issues hundreds of invitations for provincial nomination

Ontario Provincial Nominated Program (PNP) Holds Five Draws on 28 August

The Provincial Nominated Program (PNP) of Ontario conducted five draws on 28 August, issuing a total of 468 invitations to register for candidates with job vacancies in specific regions of Ontario.

The Ontario immigrant-nominated program extended invitations to foreign workers and international students with vacancies in Noord-Donario, as well as candidates eligible for the Regional Economic Development through Immigration (Redi) pilot under the employer Job offer: foreign employee, International student, or In-demand skills Streams.

All draws considered profiles created between 2 July 2025 and 28 August 2025. The details of the draws are outlined below:

Candidates in Noord-Ontario

Current Stream Minimum Score Number of Invitations Issued
Employer offer: foreign employee 53 94
Employer’s offer: international student 66 236

On August 28, OINP targeted invitations were issued to candidates in the Expression of Interest (EOI) system eligible for the foreign employee or international student stream. To qualify, candidates needed a job in Noord-Donario and had to be residing in Canada.

Noord-Ontario includes various census divisions such as Muskoka, Haliburton, Nipissing, Parry Sound, and others. Candidates also needed to have a score higher than the minimum required and a job vacancy in specific National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes.

Redi Candidates

Stream Minimum Score Number of Invitations Issued
Foreign Worker Stream 45 94
International Student Stream 68 56
In-demand Skills Stream 34 25

On August 28, Ontario issued 138 targeted invitations through the Expression of Interest system to candidates eligible for the Redi Pilot under the employer’s offer: foreign employee, international student, or in-demand skills stream in specific Ontario communities.

The Redi initiative, running until December 31, 2025, offers a pathway to permanent residency for candidates with a job offer in select Ontario communities. Candidates had to meet specific criteria and have a job vacancy in specified NOC codes.

The New EOI System from Ontario

Starting July 2, 2025, Ontario mandates that all applications for employment approval under the employer offering flows be submitted through the employment portal. This shift to a new EOI system emphasizes employer-led processes for the OINP employer offer flows.

Candidates whose employers have initiated an Expression of Interest through the portal were considered in the recent draws. Those who submitted EOIs before July 2 must coordinate with employers to re-initiate the EOIs. More information on the process can be found here.
