Halifax Man Faces Child Offenses Charges

A Halifax man has found himself in legal trouble after being sued by regional police for child offenses.

Authorities were alerted to the situation on September 1st following a report that a child had received a sexually explicit message on social media from a man known to her.

Allegedly, the man then proceeded to invite the child to meet with the intention of engaging in a sexual act.

Thankfully, the child confided in a trusted adult and did not meet with the man in question.

24-year-old Cameron Copage was taken into custody in Dartmouth on Thursday in connection with the incident.

He is set to appear in Halifax Provincial Court to face charges that include luring a person under 16 through telecommunications and violating a probationary order.

The Halifax Regional Police urge anyone with information regarding child exploitation to come forward either to HRP directly or through Crime Stoppers.
