Nova Scotia seeking public input on budget 2024-25

HALIFAX, N.S. — The Nova Scotia government is inviting residents to offer their input on the 2024-25 provincial budget.

As of data projections in September, the province is expected to report a near $402.7 million deficit for 2023-24 with roughly $15.2 billion in expenses compared to the $14.6 billion provincial budget.

“Our province is growing, and our government has been investing in transforming healthcare and advancing solutions for housing, the environment and the economy since the beginning of our mandate,” said Finance and Treasury Board Minister Allan MacMaster. “We’re asking Nova Scotians about what matters most to them as we create Budget 2024-25 and future budgets.”

Suggestions during the annual budget consultation process can be filed by email at [email protected]a, submitted directly to the Department of Finance and Treasury Board, or sent to a local MLA.

The deadline for submissions is Jan. 26, 2024, more information is available online at novascotia.ca/budget-engagement/.
