Nova Scotia man dead after highway collision with transport truck

ELMSDALE, N.S. — A 37-year-old Dutch Settlement, N.S. man is dead following a two-vehicle crash involving a transport truck this morning in Elmsdale.

East Hants District RCMP said emergency crews were called to a collision on Highway 214 just before 9:30 a.m. where officers learned that a black Ford F-350 and a loaded transport truck had been driving in opposite directions when they collided.

The 37-year-old male driver and sole occupant of the Ford was pronounced dead on scene. The 34-year-old Moncton, N.B. man driving the truck was uninjured.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene and Highway 214 is expected to be closed for several hours. The investigation is ongoing.
