Eagles’ Jalen Hurts set to start against Cowboys despite Nick Sirianni suggesting QB was limited by injury

The Philadelphia Eagles are gearing up to face off against the Dallas Cowboys in a crucial NFC East division matchup this Sunday in Arlington, Texas. Despite some initial concerns about his availability, star quarterback Jalen Hurts has been cleared to play in Week 10.

The uncertainty surrounding Hurts’ status arose when Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni mentioned to reporters that the quarterback had sat out of practice on Wednesday due to an unspecified ankle issue. However, Sirianni quickly backtracked, stating that Hurts was simply given a rest day and was not dealing with an injury. He emphasized the importance of being cautious with Hurts’ health.

Hurts was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday but was a full participant on both Thursday and Friday. Although he appeared to be shaken up after a sack in the Eagles’ previous game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Hurts did not show any signs of significant injury and did not miss any game time.

In addition to Hurts, the Eagles will have their top wide receivers, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, available for Sunday’s game. Brown has been nursing a knee injury, while Smith has been dealing with a hamstring issue.

On the other side of the field, the Cowboys will be without their star quarterback, Dak Prescott, who has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury sustained in the previous week’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones confirmed that Prescott will be placed on injured reserve, with backup QB Cooper Rush set to start in his place.
