Left-wing dark money network hauled in more than $1.3B in anonymous donations for liberal causes in 2023

A left-wing dark money network, known for its secretive funding operation, raised over $1.3 billion in anonymous donations in 2023 to support progressive projects, as per tax filings reviewed by Fox News Digital.

Arabella Advisors, a billion-dollar consulting network based in Washington, D.C., comprises six nonprofits: New Venture Fund, Sixteen Thirty Fund, Windward Fund, Hopewell Fund, North Fund, and Telescope Fund. These groups collectively amassed around $1.35 billion in 2023 and disbursed nearly $1.5 billion in grants to various organizations that same year.

Each fund serves as a fiscal sponsor to other left-wing nonprofits, granting them tax-exempt status and enabling them to bypass filing tax forms with the IRS. Additionally, these six funds transfer substantial amounts of money to progressive organizations outside their network.

The network allocated hundreds of millions of dollars towards internally managed initiatives, totaling well over $1 billion in support for liberal causes, in addition to covering operational expenses like salaries.

New Venture Fund, the largest nonprofit within the network, raised $669 million, while the Windward Fund, focused on climate resilience, received $212 million. Together, these two groups spent approximately $1.1 billion in 2023.

The Sixteen Thirty Fund, dedicated to addressing significant social challenges such as climate change and gun reform, secured $181 million and expended around $141 million.

The North Fund, which received $59 million last year, directed its funding towards LGBTQ+-related initiatives, environmental causes, and gender equity, spending about $39 million in total.

Similarly, the Hopewell Fund garnered approximately $157 million, while the Telescope Fund collected over $69 million in donations in 2023. Collectively, these two groups disbursed approximately $193 million.

Moreover, the nonprofits funneled around $48 million back to Arabella Advisors, their parent company. Notably, the network channeled $17 million to Democratic attorney Marc Elias’ firm, Elias Law Group, from both the Hopewell Fund and the North Fund.

Additionally, the Windward Fund contributed $2.2 million to the China-affiliated Rocky Mountain Institute, a group associated with the Biden White House and focused on phasing out gas stoves.

Caitlin Sutherland, Executive Director of Americans for Public Trust, criticized the Arabella Advisors network for consistently amassing significant funding for left-wing causes, highlighting the irony of liberals accepting dark money to support their agenda.

In 2022, Arabella raised $1.3 billion in anonymous donations and allocated over $900 million towards various progressive initiatives. The firm clarified that they are a consulting business supporting philanthropy and did not spend nearly $1.5 billion in 2023, as indicated in the tax filings.

It’s important to note that the tax filings referenced do not pertain to Arabella Advisors directly but to independent nonprofit organizations within the network.
